We are a small family of bubble artists. We create living art that helps to lend beauty and wonder to just about any backdrop - and for people of all ages to enjoy!
A bubble's entire purpose is to diffract white light through a soapy prism - mere nanometers thick - inorder to reveal the rainbow that lies within every single photon... showcasing the fact that behind our everyday collective reality, there is always hidden complexity and beauty. It's all too easy to overlook how amazing the natural world can be without the right first person perspective. We strive to offer that experience with bubbles and through bubbling! We are continually inspired everytime we get the opportunity to open the eyes of onlookers & share in the amazement of someone seeing a soap bubble bigger than your average sized SUV casually floating by them for the very first time. 😯

Soap bubbles have very thin walls. The range can be anywhere from 10 nanometers at the top of a thin-walled bubble, to over 1000 nanometers. By contrast, human hair's thickness range is on the order of 40,000 to 60,000 nanometers... Some soap films may be as few as a few soap molecules thick! 🤔 😮
At Bountiful Bubbles, we specialize in providing captivating and interactive entertainment with an emphasis on kindness and patience for audiences of all ages throughout the greater Pacific Northwest. Our experiences confirm what many scientific papers written on the subject have concluded: bubbles have an amazing ability to aid in all sorts of social, try emotional and intellectual pursuits. From speech therapy, to helping people living with with autism help relate to their peers, to just creating a memorable and amazing experience for everyone!

The idea for our business started out as a science project for our son... After seeing first hand just how beneficial bubbles were in aiding his social, emotional & mental growth, it became a bit of an obsession to fine tune the experience in order to get the most out of it. A bit like peeling an onion, I was amazed with just how many layers there were to blowing bubbles. From the natural sciences perspective of being able to actually visualize the wind currents with bubbles.... to the speech therapy perspective of practicing the proper phonetic pronunciation of a letter while simultaneously blowing a bubble.... As both a person and a parent, I can attest to the fact that there is nothing that bubbles can't make better! 🫧🌈🙂

Below you'll find a basic synopsis of the services we provide on a regular basis. We are of course always finding new ways to share the magic of bubbles with our audiences, but the following types of bubble shows are the three classic offerings that what we do generally falls within:

Lauren Lowery, a certified LSP, and a clinical staff writer for the Hanen Centre writes, "Playing with bubbles is a great activity for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder because: children can participate verbally or nonverbally during bubble play (therefore, this activity can be adapted for young children at any stage of development)"
"Bubbles provide a point of focus and can help to cultivate mindfulness. Blowing bubbles can have a calming impact on the nervous system and watching bubbles can also be calming."
...
" Blowing bubbles can help to manage anxiety. Exhaling slowly is calming and blowing bubbles is a way to slow down and lengthen the outbreath. Controlling our breath helps us regulate our nervous system and our emotions and can relieve stress and tension."
"Bubbles are a great activity used by ALL therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists alike... We tend to always have them in our therapy toolbox. Bubbles are inexpensive, portable, AND encourage interaction. And most importantly they are fun and kids LOVE them!"
Randi A. Freid, Speech Language Pathologist, writes, "Bubbles provide a wide range of language using opportunities during play. Bubbles can be a communicative temptation, something that allows a child to think, act, or react naturally to the situation. Communication temptations can motivate a child with autism to initiate communication, talk, or increase his utterance length."
"As a yoga instructor and pediatric occupational therapist, I usually encourage children to use deep calming breaths by relating it to something they know. “Deep breaths” can be pretty abstract and daunting, but blowing bubbles (whether that’s actually blowing bubbles or just pretending) is the same action and result but a more concrete action! "
"Conclusions: The study discovered that interventions involving bubble blowing and ball squeezing significantly decreased children's levels of anxiety, fear, and pain both during and after intravenous procedures. Information on procedures, alongside interactive techniques like bubble blowing and ball squeezing, helps pediatric nurses calm children, easing anxiety, fear, and pain. Implementing these strategies enhances treatment experiences and confidence in healthcare."
Abbey Carlson writes, "I have found some “magic” tricks to help me with my low-verbal kiddos. Bubbles! This one shouldn’t be a surprise, but in case it is, blowing bubbles is a great activity for fostering many core vocabulary words and signs including: open, more, please, and all done. I also use bubbles to work on CVC words (i.e., ‘pop’), expanding utterance length (e.g., “I want bubbles,” “I want more bubbles,” “More bubbles please,” etc.), and of course, as a reinforcer."
